I. OPENING THOUGHTS
So this month (August 2014) I now induct 2 records that mean some to me,
tho quite opposite, in terms of music style (one being rap, one being metal),
but similar, in the sense, they both have this 'soundtrack-like' feel to them.
The first of which being, EMINEM'S "The Marshall Mathers LP2" (2013),
indeed, the 'sequel' to "The Marshall Mathers LP" from 2000, which I guess,
might be Eminem's all-time (or perhaps, second all-time) best selling record.
Though most will say how 'that record' and "The Slim Shady LP" (1999) are
Eminem's best 2 records, and if you had to own 'just one', be one of those 2,
but the reason why I chose the "MMLP2" as MY ONE 'EMINEM' RECORD
is because I think it's the most well-written and steadiest of all his albums.
II. THOUGHTS ON EMINEM
Eminem, no doubt, THE BEST RAPPER OF ALL-TIME (what do ya say?).
LOL, well, I don't really 100% stand by that comment (just did it as a JAB at
all the TUPAC & BIGGIE fans, although, I personally think *THOSE 2* are
(hate to fuckin say it but) OVERRATED, and yeah, had they "NOT DIED!",
I don't think they (Tupac & Biggie) would be nearly as HYPED as they are.
But Eminem is indeed ONE OF THE BEST OF ALL-TIME, in hip-hop/rap,
and what makes me "a fan" is the fact he (Mr. Marshall Mathers) is a man
with MAJOR ISSUES, and he knows how to take those issues, and indeed,
make RECORDS out of them (in tryin to turn his negatives into a positives).
Something I have to respect, being in the SHIT situation I'm in, I can relate.

V. FAVORITE TRACK
Although "The Marshall Mathers LP2" had alot of great smashes (bangers),
my favorite track, and a favorite amongst MANY others, despite the fact
it was NOT released as a single, nor made into a music video (a shame)
was (track 6) "Legacy", indeed, the most 'sensitive' song on the record,
talking about Eminem's dysfunctional childhood, and yeah, quite the detail,
inc. the one amazing line about him being "differently wired" (mentally), hm,
reminds me (of idunno) ME, and the fact my brain is differently wired too!
Just look at me, and all the DATING SITES I am on, and the fucking fact
I'm REJECTED on every one a them, why, maybe cuz I'm differently wired :)
A song about being a "reject", and life being the shits, how I can so relate.
VI. OTHER STANDOUT TRACKS
MMLP2, an album fulla 'feel bad' moments, as well as 'feel good' moments,
just look at the first 2 singles (tracks 5 and 8) "Survival" and "Berzerk", tho
a turnoff to 'some hip-hop fans' (and pop fans) to hear LOUD GUITARS
being tied to their beloved genre, and yeah, if you're not a fan of rock'n'roll,
you probably blew-off those 2 songs (or record) cuz they "hurt your ears!",
but I LOVED IT, having been HUGE fan of LIMP BIZKIT, back in their prime.
Track 12 "The Monster" also rocks, despite being SO overplayed (to death),
but definately NOT the best in terms of all (5) the Eminem/Rihanna collabs.
"Rhyme or Reason" (track 3), I also love, as well as (track 1) "Bad Guy",
the song in which I played *on loop* before my SEMI-ARREST (08.08.14) :)
VII. LEAST FAVORITE TRACKS
So I can't expect to like EVERY SONG on MMLP2, it has its filler moments,
and (tracks 11 and 16) "Stronger Than I Was" and "Evil Twin" are just that.
What else, (tracks 4 and 10) "So Much Better" and "Brainless" were okay,
Eminem (I'm guessing) tryin to bring us back to his retro ('99/2000) sound.
"Asshole" (track 7) was disappointing to me though, considering it featured
SKYLAR GREY, who's known for "epic collaborations", not in 'this case'.
And lastly, (track 15) "Headlights", the final (chosen) single off the album,
and I'm guessing, since it features the lead singer from "FUN.", and yeah,
(from a record company's view) cause he's so "IN" with today's young crowd,
they chose to promote this song (over "Legacy"), eventhough, it's CRAP!
VIII. ARTWORK
The artwork of "The Marshall Mathers LP 2" shows Eminem's (past) home,
where he once he grew up in, much like with the first "Marshall Mathers LP".
Not much I can really comment on it, I mean, not as "cool" as the cover of
let's say, a "LONG.LIVE.A$AP" (from A$AP Rocky), but I don't care really.
This was Eminem's personal choice for cover, and it has sentimental value,
so you can't argue with tha man, still, a fuckin kickass album nonetheless.
Actually kinda hoping, he DOESN'T put out a "Marshall Mathers LP 3",
in the future, and one that also tops this record, in terms of great music,
since that would mean I would have to replace this record, with that one,
since, I only allow ONE RECORD BY ONE ARTIST, into my collection.
IX. CLOSING THOUGHTS
So yeah, having looked through my (growing) "record collection" thus far,
I indeed had to get me an Eminem record, being that (as I already stated),
Mr. Marshall Mathers (Eminem's real name) is a "man of major issues",
(though, he's in a MUCH better state now, than compared to 'past times')
and yeah, I'm a "man of major issues" myself, which I guess you can say,
I'm at the "height of my issues", considering how my "Summer 2014" went,
and the fact, I'm VIRTUALLY UNWANTABLE on all dating site platforms.
And yeah, "attracting women" probably never was a problem for Eminem,
where was with me tho, it's the single biggest EPIDEMIC of my life, still,
I felt I needed an Eminem record added to the DVSNGH Record Collection.
