(RE-INTRODUCTION)
Hey it'z your boy DJ DIZTURBIA (a.K.a "DVSNGH" Dave Singh) here,
to talk about RECORDZ, that'z right, recordz (I kinda have a record collection).
I figure, seeing az I am spending good money on theze ($25-$100/per vinyl)
I may az well talk about em, ya know, plus it givez me a nice break from
(ya know) tha same old, same old (WHY I CAN'T A GIRL FRIEND ramblingz).
So yeah, tha way I have it setup, iz every month, I would (purchase and)
'induct' 2 new recordz into ma (ever-growing) personal record collection.
May have to change thiz format soon tho, az I am in enormous (C.C.) debt,
but yeah, since I started collecting (1 year ago), got close to 50 recordz now.
(RE-INTRODUCTION) II
So yeah, in tha past, I would write theze full-length (10 paragraph) blogz
including somewhat of a mini-review, with songz I liked and didn't liked,
but yeah, over time I grew tired of doing them, in addition to tha fact,
NOBODY EVA FUCKIN READ EM, OR TALKED TO ME ABOUT EM, SO.
Plus, I thought I really fuckin SUCKED az a "music reviewer guy" so, fuck it.
So I thought from hereon, for each record I buy, I devote paragraph or 2 on em.
Tha first record of which being COAL CHAMBER's "Rivals" (2015, nu-metal),
a music album that had come out a month ago, I happy to REALLY like,
from a band I've been REALLY INTO, since their very inception (1997).
I. COAL CHAMBER "RIVALS" (2015)
So thiz iz a record from tha Los Angeles heavy metal band COAL CHAMBER,
but yeah, they put out a few recordz after, but ova time started to fizzle out,
and ended up breaking up in 2002, but reformed a year ago (in 2014),
with tha same original band members (assuming az a full-time band again),
so thiz what iz considered a "comeback" album/record for tha band.
So, what haz me with thiz record, iz tha fact tha songz (yeah) really rock,
and yeah, thiz iz COAL CHAMBER, with their (music) formula being that of
heavy metal mixed with a haunting, depressing, almost Goth-like sound,
and unlike a majority of metal bandz, thiz band putz emphasis on hookz,
and catchy rhythmz, while at tha same time, being angry and in-your-face.
II. COAL CHAMBER "RIVALS" (2015) II
So yeah, COAL CHAMBER az a band, az much az "I" fuckin like them,
and I'm talkin about people who live and die by metal (music), they go by
different termz, like 'purists' or 'technicalists', thoze who listen to metal ALOT,
and yeah, tha more 'technical/advance' (in songwriting), tha more they gloat.
And with COAL CHAMBER, theze same people, have casted them off,
for tha fact their 'songwriting' iz too simple, some even going az far to say,
their music iz for "dumbed-downed people"... "who like radio and MTV".
And tha fact, they appeared on so many movie soundtracks, showed that
tha band wuz profiting HUGE, with their 'simpleton formula' of metal,
while tha more beloved 'technical bandz' are strugglin to make endz meet.
III. COAL CHAMBER "RIVALS" (2015) III
So what'z also great about thiz COAL CHAMBER record (I bought) iz that
it had also came with a bonus (hour long) "Making Of..." DVD/Documentary,
talking about all tha hard work that had gone into making thiz record,
hearing it directly from tha band members, az well az, tha record producer,
which wuz so good, you'd wish every (music) album you buy, came with one.
It really gave tha album a 'royal treatment' feel to it (with tha documentary).
It also felt good, knowing, at tha time of watching tha documentary (07/11/15),
it had not been posted to YouTube or any other (free) online steaming source,
altho it eventually will, but I wuz watching it before it got leaked, ya know,
so yeah, for ma $40 I spent on thiz, I felt I got more than juz 'fresh new music',
but also a ticket, to see a movie, before it landed on the net (for freeloaderz).
